L.E.K. Consulting

Emily

Why L.E.K.?

Coming from a liberal arts background, I was looking for a job that would quickly provide me with business experience and expose me to a variety of industries. When researching different consulting firms, L.E.K. stood out to me with its reputation as a data-oriented firm. With short cases, limited travel and international opportunities, L.E.K.’s collegial work environment easily convinced me to join.

My Role

As an Associate, I have quickly gained a great deal of experience. Working closely with senior case team members, I have mainly focused on primary and secondary research. From interviewing key opinion leaders to identifying specific market trends, I have delved into many different business problems and have gained valuable experience synthesizing the relevant information. The variety of cases and small case teams facilitate an extremely fast learning curve and have already improved my technical and analytical skills.

Professional Development

L.E.K. has many different professional development opportunities. Beginning with two weeks of training, the Professional Development program continues on a monthly basis, building on what you have previously learned and prepares you with the necessary skills to thrive in your position.

Outside of the formal program, cases have provided the greatest learning opportunities, and the case review system offers regular and meaningful feedback about your progress and development needs.

My Career Development Coach and an older “buddy” have also served as mentors and are available to answer any of my questions or concerns. Finally, the many L.E.K. extracurricular groups provide opportunities for leadership and development as well as a chance to spend time with colleagues outside of the work setting.
